Artistic approach

Remove the blinkers created by modern life and revive our primitive instinctive freedom. Relearn how to observe nature, the sky, animal life and use it as a model.  Its teachings can only bring us wisdom and adaptation. Nature reacts in symbiosis with man and all elements: air, earth, water … WE are nature.

"Myths and legends" is her most recent collection.  For millennia myths and legends have been the vector that explains the fundamental truths about the universe, the cycle of life, man and natural phenomena. They are the expression of a thought put into words and images passed on to the next generation, Conveying their knowledge, their traditions and the lessons of life.

"Native and wild flora of Quebec". These native plants of our lands display great diversity.  All have different properties. In plain sight, but passing unnoticed by most of us, they persist in maintaining the harmony and balance of the ecosystem. Inspired by their colors, their textures and their unique forms, Sandy paints the flora in perfect harmony with humankind.

Sandy also has a series on "Wonderful Tales".  She loves the imaginary; and the power to interpret different fantastic characters with a touch of her own subtlety that tells the tale in the unique way that only she can do. She explores the topic "creation of man". Ephemeral, and urban.  Very often inspired by her own photos, likenesses of boats, barges, car etc.

In her work, there is a harmony of the figurative and abstraction. The artist proposes a universe of deconstruction where drawing, spatula, collage and painting coexist resulting in a dynamic and gestural work, made mostly of acrylic paint. These paintings are inspired by her travels, different cultures, nature, and tales she picked up along the way.
